It is high time for Turkey to follow the lead of Azerbaijan and to issue Turkish passports to those of our Turks-Meskhatins, who have decided to live in present Georgia.
You see, I hear Baku has decided to grant Azeri citizenship to all wishing to it residents of Kvemo-Kartli region (Georgia) in order to help them in their struggle for autonomic status there. Why does not Ankara plan to return Adjara’s autonomic status in the same way now?
Why should our Muslim brothers from Adjara register as so-called “Muslim Georgians”? What a shame for us, Turks!
Turkish authorities should also help us to redeem our rights in Georgia, whose powers do all possible in order to delay process of deported Meskhatins’ homecoming, even forcing us to bear Georgian family names!
